Revenge

No—!"

Before Wang Yurou's scream could fully escape, the female cultivator had already raised her hand and waved.

A flash of purple light, and Wang Yurou's hands were severed at the wrists. Blood gushed forth.

She let out an agonized scream and fainted.

Suppressed gasps and sobs filled the hall, but no one dared cry out loud, fearing they would be next.

"Take her away." The female cultivator waved dismissively, as if shooing away a fly.

Two Wang family servants trembled as they stepped forward and dragged the unconscious Wang Yurou out, leaving a glaring trail of blood on the floor.

"Anyone else object?" The female cultivator surveyed the room, her gaze sharp as a blade.

Everyone bowed their heads deeply, not daring to meet her eyes.

But the boy was still unsatisfied. He walked over to a young woman kneeling nearby.

It was Wang Jing, Wang Mingde's granddaughter, who had just started university and was home for the summer to help out.

She was pretty and delicate, her face now deathly pale with fear.

"You," the boy pointed at her with his whip, "go fetch me some pastries. Sweet ones."

Wang Jing stood up trembling and practically ran to the kitchen.

Soon she returned carrying a plate of exquisite pastries, carefully placing it on the tea table in front of the boy.

The boy picked one up and took a bite, then immediately spat it out.

"It's too sweet! Are you trying to make me sick?!" He flew into a rage and lashed his whip across Wang Jing's face.

Wang Jing screamed as a bloody welt instantly appeared on her face. She clutched her cheek and fell to the ground, tears flowing uncontrollably.

"Useless thing!" The boy was about to strike again when the female cultivator stopped him.

"Lin'er, that's enough." The female cultivator said lightly. "Why bother with these mortals? It only lowers your status."

Only then did the boy relent, but he still kicked Wang Jing viciously: "Get out of my sight!"

Wang Jing scrambled away on hands and knees, holding her wound and weeping quietly.

Wang Mingde watched all of this, tears streaming down his aged face, yet he dared not say a word.

He knew these two people before him were ones the Wang family absolutely could not afford to offend.

The female cultivator claimed to be from a hidden immortal cultivation clan. Three days ago, she had suddenly arrived at the Wang residence, saying she wanted to stay temporarily.

Wang Mingde had initially tried to politely decline, but the female cultivator merely waved her hand lightly, sending the Wang family's two most capable bodyguards flying with blood spurting from their mouths.

From then on, the Wang residence became this mother and son's "temporary palace." The entire family was forced to serve them like servants. At the slightest displeasure, they were beaten or berated—three servants had already been beaten to death.

"Mother, I'm so bored." The boy rolled around on the sofa. "This dump is no fun at all. When are we going to find that wench? I want to catch her and keep her as a pet!"

A cold gleam flashed in the female cultivator's eyes: "Soon. I've already sensed her aura. She's badly injured and can't have gone far. Once Mother finishes setting up things around here, we'll go find her."

"Really?" The boy's eyes lit up. "I want to catch that white fox of hers too! That little beast dared to bite me—I'll skin it and make it into a scarf!"

The female cultivator stroked her son's head indulgently: "Yes, yes, whatever you want."

Just then, a faint sound came from outside the window.

The boy noticed first. He ran to the window and looked out, immediately crying out in delighted surprise: "Mother! Look! It's that white fox!"

Under the moonlight, a pure white little fox was crouching on the ornamental rocks in the courtyard, its amber eyes coldly fixed on the interior of the house.

"It really is." The female cultivator walked to the window, greed showing in her eyes. "This white fox is full of spiritual intelligence. If we could capture and tame it, it would be a great asset in the future."

"I'll catch it!" The boy was about to rush outside.

"Wait." The female cultivator held him back. "That little beast is cunning. It escaped last time. This time, Mother will go personally."

She pushed open the window, and in a flash, she was in the courtyard.

Seeing the female cultivator emerge, Little Snow turned and ran, but its speed was clearly not what it once was—its hind leg didn't seem to have fully healed.

"Let's see where you run!" The female cultivator sneered, raising her hand to release a beam of purple light that transformed into a net of light, sweeping toward Little Snow.

Just as the net was about to descend, a white figure dropped from the sky, landing lightly in front of Little Snow. With a wave of her sleeve, the light net dissolved into nothing.

Under the moonlight, Bai Qingxue stood in flowing white robes, her long hair cascading like a waterfall, her cold face expressionless.

She bent down to pick up Little Snow, gently stroking its head: "It's alright now."

"It's you!" The female cultivator's eyes narrowed. "Bai Qingxue, I hadn't even gone looking for you, and here you are delivering yourself to my door!"

Bai Qingxue raised her head, her gaze icy: "You and your son have been lording over this mortal family, slaughtering innocents. Do you not fear heaven's retribution?"

"Heaven's retribution?" The female cultivator scoffed. "From you? A wounded stray dog—you think you're worthy of speaking to me about heaven's retribution?"

As she spoke, her aura suddenly erupted. Purple spiritual energy swirled around her, forming whirlwinds.

The flowers and plants in the courtyard were blown askew, and the window glass of the Wang residence crackled, developing cracks.

The Wang family members kneeling in the hall felt this pressure and collapsed limply to the ground. Some with weaker constitutions fainted outright.

But Bai Qingxue's expression remained unchanged. She set Little Snow aside and said lightly: "Since you refuse to see reason, don't blame me for being impolite."

The "new" author has completely lost their way.

When the old author(s) would have conceived the plot they must have some sane thoughts and visualized how to take the story towards some sensible twists and eventual ending.

Now it's completely gone hewired, totally disconnected from it's original essence (storyline) and getting senseless with every update!!!!😠

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...

Suspicion

The call came from Natasha’s personal secretary. The moment she spoke, her voice was already trembling with panic: “President Harmon! Something terrible happened! A huge problem!” “Half an hour ago, we received several calls in succession—Voyage International, Xinmao Capital, and Hongtu Real Estate… All of them have  unilaterally  informed us that they are terminating all cooperation with us. All previously agreed-upon projects have been suspended!” “What? Terminating cooperation?” Natasha’s face changed instantly. “How is that possible? The contracts are signed. Do they intend to breach them?” “They only said it was due to ‘strategic adjustments’ and refused to elaborate. As for the breach penalty—they’re willing to pay it according to the contract! Even worse, several major raw material suppliers and distributors who had always cooperated well with us also sent letters just now, saying that due to force majeure, they can no longer supply goods or continue providing channel s...
