Don’t Come Out Again

Under the bright lights of the precinct, Dustin and Natasha were politely invited into an interview room.

A middle-aged officer personally took their statements, his attitude fairly respectful.

Natasha explained in detail everything that happened—from leaving the mall and being blocked by Shuo Spanner’s convoy, to the forced chase, and finally being surrounded on the overpass.

Dustin supplemented with key details, emphasizing the number of attackers, their weapons, and how Shuo Spanner and his brother openly ordered the assault.

His tone was calm and logical, clearly defining the Spanner brothers’ actions as deliberate assault and unlawful detention.

The officer’s brows furrowed deeper as he took notes.

The incident involved the royal Spanner family, and in such an outrageous manner—this was becoming extremely troublesome.

At that moment, someone knocked lightly on the door.

A young officer entered quickly, whispered a few words into the officer’s ear, and discreetly handed him a phone with an ongoing call.

The officer took the phone, walked to a corner, spoke quietly for a few moments, and his expression subtly changed.

He hung up, turned back toward Dustin and Natasha, and his eyes held a new shade of caution.

After clearing his throat, his voice became even more courteous:

“Mr. Dustin, Miss Natasha, we’ve basically understood the situation. The two of you are the victims here, and the statement is complete. You may leave now. I’ll arrange a car to take you home to rest.”

“Thank you,” Dustin nodded.

The two stood and, accompanied by another officer, headed out.

Passing through a dimly lit corridor, they heard a voice yelling from a nearby interrogation room.

“Damn it! Watch your hands! Do you know who I am?!”

It was Shuo Spanner.

Instinctively, Dustin and Natasha glanced inside.

There sat Shuo Spanner and Hui Spanner. Shuo’s face was bruised, twisted with rage as he shouted at the officers. Hui Spanner remained silent, but the malice in his gaze was sharp and sinister.

The moment Shuo saw Dustin and Natasha unharmed and calmly walking past the doorway, he froze—then exploded with fury.

“Stop!”

Shuo tried to leap up, but an officer immediately pressed him back down.

Struggling wildly, he pointed at Dustin and Natasha and roared:

“Why?! Why can they leave and not us?! What kind of bullshit precinct is this?!”

The stern middle-aged interrogating officer glared coldly:

“They are innocent victims, so of course they can leave. You gathered a mob, assaulted people with weapons, and we have solid evidence. Naturally, you’ll be prosecuted.”

“Bullshit!”

Shuo’s anger boiled over:

“Innocent?! They injured my men! They rammed my car! Do you know who I am?! I’m from the royal Spanner family! Release me right now, or I’ll have your whole precinct torn apart!”

He was used to being untouchable and didn’t take the officer seriously at all.

The officer’s expression hardened.

“Shuo Spanner! You dare curse and threaten law enforcement inside the precinct?! That adds another charge!”

“Charge your mother!” Shuo completely lost control and, relying on his family background, even tried to shove the officer.

“Hold him down!” the officer barked.

Two prepared officers immediately rushed in, pinning Shuo to the ground. No matter how much he cursed and struggled, he couldn’t move an inch.

“Let go of me! You dogs! I’ll sue you! I’ll skin you alive! Big Brother! Big Brother, say something!!” he shrieked as his face pressed against the cold floor.

Hui Spanner’s expression finally turned pitch black. Slowly lifting his head, he stared at the officer, his voice icy and laced with deadly threat:

“Officer… I advise you not to go too far. Release my brother now, and I can pretend tonight never happened. Otherwise… with one phone call, I can make sure you—and your chief—lose those badges tomorrow. Do you understand me?”

His threat carried far more weight than Shuo’s noisy tantrum.

But the middle-aged officer acted as if he hadn’t heard a word. His face was expressionless as he waved his hand:

“Gathering a mob for assault, use of deadly weapons, obstruction of justice, and threatening law enforcement. Detain them in the holding facility and wait for further processing.”

“Yes, sir!”

Shuo and Hui Spanner were forcibly brought out.

As they were escorted through the hallway, Shuo caught sight of Dustin standing not far away, quietly watching.

His eyes filled with venomous hatred, and he screamed with all the rage in his body:

“You bastard! Don’t you dare celebrate! I’ll be out tomorrow! Once I’m out, I’ll make your life worse than death! Just you wait!!”

His hysterical curses echoed through the corridor, dripping with madness and spite.

Dustin’s gaze turned icy, like frozen steel.

Meeting Shuo Spanner’s hateful stare, he slowly said—voice quiet, but sharp enough to cut through the air:

“In that case… don’t come out again.”

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Unleashing the Trump Card

“Form up! Protect the Princess!” A’Long forced down the piercing pain in his soul and roared hoarsely. Together with the other two guards, he mustered the last of their inner strength, forming a crude triangular defense formation to shield  Margaret ,  Qingzhu , and the dying Old Zhang behind them. But deep down, they all knew—their defense was nothing but paper before those four terrifying puppets. The battle was about to erupt. At the same time, deep within Penglai Island, inside a lavish palace— The banquet of wine and flesh continued, the music of indulgence echoing through the hall. Without a sound,  Ao Kun’s  figure appeared once more on his massive white jade recliner, as though he had never left. “Big brother has returned?” The effeminate man paused his playing of the zither and looked up with a smile. The robed man and the stunning woman beside him also turned their eyes toward Ao Kun. Ao Kun ignored them. He reclined lazily, accepting a cup of fine wi...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...
