Nothing to Fear

Natasha stared at him in a daze, her red lips slightly parted, as if she couldn’t believe her own eyes.

A thin layer of mist quickly covered her beautiful eyes, blurring her vision.

“Husband…?” Her voice trembled, filled with disbelief and fragile hope.

“Natasha, I’m back.” Dustin smiled and opened his arms.

The next instant—her fragrance rushed toward him!

Natasha threw herself into his embrace like a swallow returning to its nest, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist, as if she wanted to merge him into her very being.

“Wuu… you bastard! You finally remember to come back!”

The force of her impact made Dustin—now stripped of all cultivation—stagger backward. He almost fell, but fortunately his foundation was still solid enough that he barely managed to stabilize himself. He couldn’t help but sigh inwardly; after entering the Mortal Transformation stage, he truly had become fragile.

He raised his arms and firmly held the warm, soft figure trembling in his arms, filled with guilt and tenderness.

“I’m sorry I made you worry,” he whispered beside her ear gently.

Natasha buried her face against his chest, greedily breathing in the soothing scent of him. Her small fists hammered against his chest—not that it hurt Dustin at all—but she still vented months of grievance and longing.

“Where the hell have you been these past months? Disappearing without a word! Do you know how worried I’ve been? Do you know I couldn’t sleep every night? You heartless jerk! Wuu…”

She cried while pounding his chest, her tears soaking through his shirt.

Dustin let her vent, simply hugging her more tightly and gently patting her back.

“Alright, alright… it’s my fault. I went to repay an old debt and took care of some things that needed to be settled. From now on, I’ll never disappear without a word again. I promise.” Dustin smiled softly.

Natasha lifted her tear-stained face, looking at him like a pear blossom in the rain. “Really? You’re not lying?”

“I swear—” Dustin began to raise his hand, but a slender finger pressed against his lips.

Natasha broke into a watery smile, her eyes sparkling with delight and playfulness. “Who wants you to swear? Just remember what you said.”

Then she suddenly rose on tiptoe and pressed her soft lips directly onto his.

“Mm—”

Dustin froze for a brief moment, then warmth bloomed in his eyes as he closed them and responded to her kiss, filled with longing and love.

The atmosphere in the office instantly turned tender and intoxicating; even the sunlight seemed to soften.

The two were completely immersed in their long-awaited reunion, unwilling to part.

“Bang!”

The office door was violently kicked open.

Young Master Zhao from the capital, who had just been denied entry, had returned with a face twisted in fury. His eyes burned with jealousy.

Earlier, he had been stopped by the security guards. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Relying on his family background, he stormed back in by force.

And the moment he entered, he saw the ice-cold goddess he had pursued endlessly—embracing and kissing a man he had never seen before.

The scene pierced his heart and pride like a knife!

“Natasha Harmon! Who the hell is this brat?!”

Zhao Shao pointed at Dustin, his voice sharp and distorted with rage.

He threw the expensive bouquet of roses in his hand to the floor, petals scattering everywhere.

“You dare steal the woman I set my sights on?! Are you fucking tired of living?!”

He stared at Dustin with murderous jealousy, as if he wanted to devour him alive.

The warm atmosphere shattered instantly.

Natasha snapped out of her daze. When she saw Zhao Shao barging in, her beautiful face turned cold as frost. She immediately stepped in front of Dustin, protecting him behind her. Flames of anger erupted in her eyes.

“Zhao Shuo, get. Out!”

Seeing Natasha standing protectively before him warmed Dustin’s heart.

In the past, he was always the one standing in front of others.

Now that he had become mortal, he finally got to experience what it felt like to be protected by the woman he loved.

Dustin gently patted Natasha’s shoulder, signaling her to calm down a little, then stepped forward and looked at Zhao Shuo without fear.

“I’m her man.”

“As for whether I’m tired of living… you’re welcome to try and find out.”

Even without cultivation, his physical skills alone were more than enough to deal with normal people.

And Zhao Shuo—weak, unstable, clearly hollowed out by alcohol and indulgence—was even less than a normal man.

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Unleashing the Trump Card

“Form up! Protect the Princess!” A’Long forced down the piercing pain in his soul and roared hoarsely. Together with the other two guards, he mustered the last of their inner strength, forming a crude triangular defense formation to shield  Margaret ,  Qingzhu , and the dying Old Zhang behind them. But deep down, they all knew—their defense was nothing but paper before those four terrifying puppets. The battle was about to erupt. At the same time, deep within Penglai Island, inside a lavish palace— The banquet of wine and flesh continued, the music of indulgence echoing through the hall. Without a sound,  Ao Kun’s  figure appeared once more on his massive white jade recliner, as though he had never left. “Big brother has returned?” The effeminate man paused his playing of the zither and looked up with a smile. The robed man and the stunning woman beside him also turned their eyes toward Ao Kun. Ao Kun ignored them. He reclined lazily, accepting a cup of fine wi...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...
