Li Wenxing followed Qian Jin’s line of sight and saw a ball of white light speeding across the sky in the distance.
Wherever the light passed, it sliced a long trail through the clouds,
splitting even the thickest formations clean in half.
In just two breaths, the white light had
already arrived above the port, bringing with it a howling gale that rocked their helicopter violently.
Once the winds settled, Li Wenxing looked up
--- and saw a man in white robes.
The two weren’t far apart --- just about two
hundred meters.
With Li Wenxing’s eyesight, he should’ve been
able to clearly make out the man’s face.
But strangely, no matter how hard he looked, he
couldn’t see his features at all.
It was as if there was a mist obscuring the
man’s face --- like something stood between them, clouding his vision.
“Uncle Qian, can you see that peerless expert’s
face clearly?” Li Wenxing asked Qian Jin.
“No, it’s completely concealed. He must be
deliberately hiding his appearance,” Qian Jin shook his head.
“Seems like he doesn’t want to reveal his
identity,” Li Wenxing said, a bit disappointed.
He had hoped to take this chance to witness the
true face of a land-immortal level
cultivator.
But the man had used some divine art to veil
his face, leaving no trace or clue behind.
Still, thinking it over, it made sense.
Reclusive experts like this one had no desire
to be disturbed. If not for a catastrophic
disaster in the southern region, he likely wouldn’t have shown up at
all.
At least for now, it seemed this hidden
powerhouse was a righteous man fighting
for the people, not someone who would threaten his safety.
“Your Highness, I think he’s about to cast a
divine spell. We should probably back off a bit,” Qian Jin warned.
“Retreat one kilometer,” Li Wenxing ordered
without hesitation.
Based on the divine feats the peerless expert
had shown earlier, getting too close
could mean becoming collateral damage.
At this point, all he needed to do was stay out of the way and observe --- everything
else should be left to the expert.
Meanwhile, the zombie horde below was still
snarling and surging forward. The last remaining death squad members, under overwhelming pursuit and encirclement,
were finally cornered. With no way out, they were swallowed up by the undead
--- becoming infected themselves.
The reason Li Wenxing had been able to draw the
zombie army toward the port and stall them for so long was entirely thanks to
the lives of these brave soldiers.
Zombies only chased the scent of the living. To
gather the scattered undead into one place, they had to use the death squads as bait.
In total, over a hundred members of the death squads had been sacrificed.
Each one, a martyr who gave their life for the
country.
“So many infected… in just one night?”
Above the skies, Dustin frowned slightly as he gazed at the zombie horde swarming
the port.
The situation here was clearly far worse than in Pucheng.
And the worst part? Among the three major
cities besides Pucheng, Wugang City had
the fewest infected.
Which meant… the other two cities must have descended into chaos.
“This is all I can do.”
Dustin didn’t waste any time. With his left hand, he drew upon the powers of
heaven and earth --- and suddenly grasped
toward the sea.
Whooosh!
In an instant, the ocean surged upward.
From just five or six meters high… to fifty or
sixty… then hundreds.
In seconds, a towering wall of water, hundreds of meters tall, rose into the sky
--- and it was still rising.
The sheer spectacle of it left Li Wenxing slack-jawed.
His helicopter was nearly a thousand meters above sea level.
And in just a few minutes, he watched a modest
ripple on the sea transform into a tsunami
that climbed ever higher, eventually surpassing the height of his aircraft.
As the wall of water loomed higher and higher,
now completely eclipsing their
helicopter, Li Wenxing panicked.
“Hurry! Get higher! And pull back another three
kilometers!”
The pilot didn’t hesitate --- immediately
steering the helicopter up to 2,000
meters in altitude, and backing away by three kilometers.
There was no other choice.
The sheer pressure of that thousand-meter-high wave was suffocating.
If it came crashing down, forget humans or helicopters --- even
reinforced concrete skyscrapers would be crushed under that force.
“Dear god… is that even human? He raised a
thousand-meter wave with a single gesture… that’s terrifying…”
Li Wenxing swallowed hard, deeply shaken once again.
The energy
vortex from before had already been frightening enough.
But this time, the tsunami was on a whole different level --- so massive and
overwhelming it could only be described as apocalyptic.
“This is what it means to be at the
Land-Immortal Realm…” Qian Jin murmured, also swallowing hard.
With just a motion, the man could bend heaven and earth to his will. It
was truly beyond imagination.
No ordinary person could ever wield such power.
“Fall.”
As Dustin raised the sea to its towering peak,
his left hand suddenly pressed downward.
The thousand-meter-high tsunami immediately crashed down --- like a celestial hammer from the heavens, slamming the earth with all its might. - Ton
