Exhausted and Overwhelmed

For Dustin, aside from using mountains to suppress zombie hordes, there was another method --- extracting the deathly aura from within the zombies using his divine abilities.

Once their death aura was drained, the zombies would lose the ability to move and become nothing more than lifeless corpses.

However, this method was far too inefficient. It required draining them one by one.

Faced with tens of thousands of zombies, that approach was clearly just treating the symptoms, not the root cause.

It consumed a tremendous amount of energy and didn’t produce significant results.

Instead of painstakingly draining death energy, it was far more effective to simply annihilate them with overwhelming force.

Of course, the best approach was to herd all the zombies into one place, then use his ability to move mountains and reshape terrain to deal with them all at once.

Quick. Efficient. Clean.

The only challenge was how to gather all the zombies together.

Otherwise, with the nature of the undead, even a single straggler could cause the corpse poison to spread rapidly.

After sealing the horde beneath the mountain, Dustin’s figure flickered and suddenly appeared inside the helicopter above.

“Pucheng’s crisis has been handled. What’s the situation in the other three cities? Where should I go next?” Dustin asked Margaret.

“Lincheng is in chaos,” Margaret replied grimly. “Li Guanglong ignored the advice and tried to stop the zombies with conventional troops. Not only did that fail, it accelerated the spread of the corpse poison. Now, over ten thousand people have been infected and turned into zombies. If possible, you should go there first --- otherwise the situation will spiral further out of control.”

She was seething with frustration at Li Guanglong’s arrogance.

Just to prove himself, just for the sake of pride, he recklessly gambled with the lives of tens of thousands of civilians. It was utter foolishness.

If the future of Dragonmarsh ever ended up in the hands of such a brute, who knew how many more lives would be lost?

But anger aside, for the sake of the people, she had no choice but to try and clean up Li Guanglong’s mess.

“If the situation in Lincheng has already spiraled out of control, then even I alone won’t be able to eliminate all the zombies,” Dustin said calmly. “Li Guanglong must cooperate to herd the zombies together. Otherwise, there’s little I can do.”

If Li Guanglong hadn’t evacuated the civilians or gathered the zombies, then Dustin rushing over would be pointless --- a mere drop in the ocean.

It might be better to stabilize the other two cities first, then return to help Lincheng with full focus.

“You’re right. I didn’t think that far ahead,” Margaret nodded. “I’ve already sent backup to Lincheng. They’ll do their best to hold off the zombie horde and reduce civilian pressure. As for Wugang and Liyang, the zombies have already been gathered as planned. I suggest you head to Wugang City first --- it’s closer.”

“Alright, Wugang it is.”

Dustin didn’t waste another word. With a flash, he vanished from the helicopter.

In the next instant, he reappeared hundreds of meters away, streaking across the sky like a meteor, heading straight for Wugang City.

First it was the plague. Then the red mist. And now, an army of zombies.

Ever since Dustin stepped foot into the southern provinces, he’d been racing from one disaster to another, constantly putting out fires.

Now, he finally understood the true meaning of “with great power comes great responsibility.”

Even as a powerhouse at the Landed Immortal level, this back-and-forth exhaustion was starting to take its toll.

But there was no other way. Countless lives were at stake. The safety of the entire region hung in the balance.

No matter how hard, how tiring --- it was a burden he had to carry.

At that moment, in Wugang City ---

Unlike mountain-rich Pucheng, Wugang was a coastal city, famous for its sprawling and accessible ports.

Following the advice of Qian Jin and a group of advisors, Li Wenxing had dispatched a dozen suicide squads to lure the zombie horde into the largest port.

Originally, Li Wenxing had hoped that the sea might drown the zombies.

But he quickly discovered that was futile.

Zombies weren’t afraid of water.

To be precise, they were dead things, animated by deathly energy and corpse poison. Sea water couldn’t kill them at all.

At best, the water slightly restricted their movement, but that was it.

Not stopping there, Li Wenxing also ordered his men to use incendiary bombs and concentrated artillery fire.

This did have some effect.

But there were too many zombies, and they were all incredibly tough, impervious to blades and bullets. Unless completely obliterated, they were hard to kill.

Worse still, large-scale bombardment would cause massive destruction to the city.

Even if it wiped out the zombies, half the city might be gone afterward.

Such consequences were far too severe. Unless they were completely out of options, they wouldn’t resort to such a costly tactic.

At least for now, Li Wenxing wasn’t that desperate yet.

In his mind, there was still one last trump card --- the Landed Immortal who had already proven himself as a savior.

As long as that peerless figure made a move, dealing with the zombie army shouldn’t be a problem.

So why waste manpower and resources on something so inefficient?

If the sky was falling, well --- there was someone tall enough to hold it up.

All he had to do was cooperate and stay out of the way. - Ton

This statement reminds of superman movie those days, everyone feels reluctant to care about any kind of danger because Superman is always there to rescue them.

Life or Death?

At this moment, Hera was completely terrified. When she saw Dustin effortlessly dissolve her attack, she had already started thinking about retreating. Her instincts told her that Dustin was not someone to be trifled with --- he was an extremely dangerous individual. Still, she clung to a sliver of hope, thinking that with Zeus by her side, the two of them together might still stand a chance. But now, after watching Zeus get severely injured and lose an arm with just one strike, she completely panicked. Her strength was already a bit weaker than Zeus’. If even Zeus couldn’t withstand a single strike from Dustin, there was no way she could either. So, the instant she saw Dustin raise his hand again, Hera didn’t hesitate for even a moment. She pushed off with her feet, launching herself into the air like a streak of light, fleeing rapidly into the sky. At this point, all she wanted was to save her own life. As for Zeus’s survival? That was no longer her concern. Rig...

Elder Whitebone

Li Juntang knew the white figure was powerful, but he hadn’t expected it to be this powerful. In just a matter of minutes, the figure had devoured the overwhelming red mist using a technique like a divine dragon drawing in water, leaving not a trace behind. Such divine ability was far beyond anything he could imagine. Seeing it with his own eyes was far more shocking than anything he’d heard. Once the red mist vanished, the white figure waved a hand, and the energy vortex quickly dissipated. A blood-red bead slowly floated down from high above and finally landed in the white figure’s palm. Seeing the opportunity was ripe, Li Juntang immediately channeled his true qi and shouted, “You have dispersed the poisonous mist with divine powers and saved the entire city from disaster. I, Li Juntang, thank you on behalf of the people of this city. May I have the honor of meeting you face to face to express our gratitude properly?” This statement was skillfully crafted --- first, p...

Transcendent and Otherworldly

A burst of golden light suddenly appeared, neutralizing Zeus’s attack and at the same time saving Margaret from having her cultivation abolished. As the golden light gradually faded, a handsome young man emerged before the crowd. His hair was completely white, his clothes were ragged, but his entire being exuded a transcendent and otherworldly aura. He stood there silently in front of Margaret, like an unshakable mountain. “Dustin?” Seeing the white-haired, handsome man, Margaret finally let out a long breath of relief. She knew she was saved --- and so was everyone in the ancient temple. Although Dustin now had white hair, his appearance hadn’t changed much. But the aura he carried was now touched with an undefinable trace of divinity --- something she had never sensed before. And that alone was enough to prove that Dustin had broken through to a new realm. “You’ve worked hard.” Dustin turned and gave Margaret a gentle nod. A strand of golden light suddenly pou...
