Rushing To The Rescue

After executing the officials, the rage in Li Guanglong's heart finally subsided somewhat.

At this point, Lincheng was beyond saving. It was only a matter of time before the red mist devoured the entire city.

With his current capabilities, nothing he did would make a difference. He might as well vent his frustration by killing a few corrupt bureaucrats.

“Buzz~!”

Suddenly, a loud rumble echoed from the skies above.

It sounded like thunderclaps tearing through the heavens, and even the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly.

“What’s going on?” Li Guanglong frowned deeply.

“Your Highness! Something’s happening outside!” Wan Zhong entered the hall and quickly reported.

“Let’s go see!”

Without wasting any time, Li Guanglong strode out of the mansion.

Far off in the sky, a massive energy vortex had appeared at some unknown point.

The vortex was over a hundred meters wide --- at a glance, it looked like a black hole, exuding an immense sense of power and dread.

Floating beneath it was a solitary figure.

Because of the distance, they couldn’t make out the figure’s appearance --- only that he was dressed in white.

“What’s this guy up to?” Li Guanglong squinted, filled with suspicion.

To suddenly appear in the sky and conjure such a powerful vortex --- what was he planning?

“Unclear for now, but I can say for certain: this man is at least at the level of an Ultimate Grandmaster,” Wan Zhong said grimly.

As a Grandmaster himself, his senses were sharp.

Yet, even with the figure clearly in view, he couldn’t feel the slightest trace of energy from him.

That alone proved the man’s strength was far beyond his comprehension.

“Ultimate Grandmaster or not, what good is that in the face of such a calamity?” Li Guanglong said coldly.

That red miasma couldn’t be dispelled. Even if someone forcefully dispersed it, it would quickly regenerate and return to normal.

An Ultimate Grandmaster, powerful as he might be, couldn’t defy the heavens.

“Buzz~!”

At that moment, the vortex in the sky began spinning even faster.

A terrifying suction force burst forth from it.

Li Guanglong and Wan Zhong, standing on the ground below, could clearly feel a force tugging at their bodies.

And it was only getting stronger.

“What kind of divine power is this? It’s affecting us from this far away?”

Li Guanglong’s expression changed; gone was his earlier dismissiveness, replaced with astonishment.

They were at least five kilometers from the vortex.

From here, the figure in the sky looked no bigger than an ant.

To feel such overwhelming suction from that distance --- it was beyond imagination.

“This man’s power is utterly unfathomable!” Wan Zhong was in awe.

Ordinary Ultimate Grandmasters were nowhere near this level. He could no longer even estimate the strength of that distant figure.

“Buzz~!”

The vortex in the sky spun even faster.

Within a ten-kilometer radius, violent winds rose, whipping sand and debris into the air.

And the red mist --- once spreading endlessly like a plague --- finally met its match. It was being sucked back with terrifying speed by the vortex.

From the ground, one could see the red mist that had blanketed several kilometers being lifted up and rapidly pulled into the vortex.

From above, the scene looked like a crimson tide receding from the land it had poisoned.

In mere minutes, the red mist that had terrified everyone was completely absorbed --- utterly erased, leaving no trace behind.

Then, the white-clad figure in the sky raised a hand, and the massive energy vortex vanished instantly.

A glowing, blood-red orb gently floated down from the air, finally landing in the figure’s hand and disappearing into his robes.

“……”

Li Guanglong and Wan Zhong were both utterly speechless.

Not in their wildest dreams could they have imagined that the horrific, unstoppable red mist would vanish like this.

The threat they had struggled to contain with all their strength --- gone in the blink of an eye, resolved by a single unknown stranger.

It was too shocking. Too unexpected. Too unreal.

“Wan Zhong… could an Ultimate Grandmaster really do this?” Li Guanglong’s voice trembled.

“Impossible. No matter how powerful, no Ultimate Grandmaster could wield divine powers like this,” Wan Zhong said, shaking his head in shock.

“Then… what level has that man in the sky reached?” Li Guanglong’s eyes widened.

“Unless I’m mistaken, he’s reached the realm of the Land Fairyland!” Wan Zhong swallowed hard.

A God-on-Earth!

Aside from that one from Mount Longhu, who else could possibly reach such heights?

“Could it be the Master from Mount Longhu himself?” Li Guanglong was in disbelief.

“Doesn’t look like him. Likely someone else entirely,” Wan Zhong replied with a deep breath.

“Our Dragonmarsh is full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers --- perhaps a reclusive powerhouse has stepped out to help.”

“Whoever it is --- they just solved our biggest crisis! Lincheng is saved, and my future is saved!”

After the initial shock, Li Guanglong couldn’t hold back his elation.

Just moments ago, he had nearly given up on Lincheng, ready to abandon it and run.

Who would’ve thought --- at the very last moment --- the tides would turn?

A peerless God-on-Earth had appeared from nowhere.

With divine powers, he resolved the crisis that had threatened the entire city --- effortlessly.

It was as if Heaven itself had intervened! - Ton

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...
