An Immortal-Like Figure

For Li Guanglong, nothing could bring him more joy than what had just happened.

The red toxic mist had been absorbed by a peerless powerhouse, the city-wide crisis had been resolved, and now he had a renewed chance at a comeback.

Though some minor issues remained, they were now manageable by human effort.

What a dramatic turn of events --- light at the end of the tunnel!

“Your Highness, that man is gone!”

Just as Li Guanglong was basking in joy, the white figure in the distant sky transformed into a streak of light and vanished over the horizon.

From the moment he appeared to the moment he departed, it had all taken less than ten minutes.

“Find someone to investigate --- figure out who that expert was. If there’s an opportunity, try to bring him to our side. If not, then don’t force it --- just make sure we don’t offend him,” Li Guanglong ordered.

A peerless expert capable of manipulating the powers of heaven and earth was unlikely to be swayed by worldly benefits.

To draw someone like that into your own faction was next to impossible.

Li Guanglong understood this clearly, so he didn’t hold out much hope.

But of course, he would still make the effort --- who knows, maybe a miracle would happen?

Meanwhile, in Liyang City.

Li Juntang was busy commanding his men in an aggressive operation to amass wealth.

After several failed attempts to control the red mist, he had chosen to give up.

He knew very well that Liyang City would eventually be consumed by the mist.

When that happened, the city would become nothing but ruins --- so he figured he might as well take the chance to line his pockets.

Of course, Li Juntang wasn’t targeting ordinary citizens. His sights were set on the wealthy officials and nobles of Liyang City.

These people had deep pockets --- and cherished their lives.

All he had to do was fabricate a charge or dig up some dirt, and he could clean them out with impunity.

If they handed over their wealth obediently, he’d spare their lives.

If they resisted? At best, imprisonment. At worst, execution.

In these matters, Li Juntang was highly experienced.

Very few of those high-ranking officials were truly clean --- they wouldn’t dare report him to the emperor.

He was using this dirty money to fatten his own coffers.

“Your Highness! Something’s happened!”

Just as Li Juntang was directing his men to move the loot, a personal guard rushed forward with a report.

“Liyang is doomed anyway --- what could possibly have happened?” Li Juntang replied gruffly.

He had suffered massive losses this time --- resources, manpower, and finances all depleted. If he didn’t recover something, how was he going to make up for it?

“Your Highness! Word just came in --- the red mist in both Wugang City and Lincheng has vanished!” the guard reported.

“What?! How is that possible?”

Li Juntang’s expression changed drastically. “Weren’t they just like us --- completely helpless? How did they suddenly turn things around?”

Hearing that Wugang and Lincheng had been saved hit him harder than losing money.

If all three cities were destroyed, at least everyone would be on equal footing --- no one would gain an advantage.

But now, with Li Wenxing and Li Guanglong having resolved their crises while his own city was still under siege by the mist…

Wasn’t this putting him directly on the hot seat?

“Don’t worry, Your Highness. The mist in Wugang and Lincheng didn’t just vanish on its own --- it was removed by someone!” the guard said suddenly.

“Removed? What do you mean?” Li Juntang was stunned.

He had already tried every method, deploying all his experts --- none of it worked against the red mist.

Could someone really have found a different solution?

“According to the reports from Wugang and Lincheng, a peerless powerhouse appeared and used a great mystical technique to absorb all the red mist, thus resolving the crisis that threatened to destroy both cities,” the guard explained.

“What?! There’s really such a divine figure in the world? Do we know who it is?” Li Juntang was shocked.

“This person’s identity is unknown for now, but scouts from Lincheng have confirmed --- that peerless expert is currently flying toward Liyang City. He should be arriving soon,” the guard said.

“Wonderful! That means there’s still hope for Liyang City!” Li Juntang’s face lit up with joy.

He didn’t know who the expert was, but if he could resolve the crisis here too, then Li Juntang would welcome him as the most honored guest.

“Your Highness, should we make preparations?” the guard asked.

“Of course!”

Li Juntang, clearly excited, said, “Prepare the finest banquet immediately. Once that peerless expert clears away the red mist, I’ll personally host him with the highest honors!”

“Yes, sir!”

The guard bowed and quickly left.

“Stop moving the treasure for now. Clean up the streets --- we’re preparing to welcome a great guest!”

Li Juntang shouted his commands, sending his men into action across the city.

Moments later ---

A streak of light came soaring across the sky from the distance and stopped above the red mist.

Li Juntang looked up and saw that it was a figure clad in white.

The figure raised a hand --- heaven and earth roared, the air trembled.

A massive energy vortex formed in the sky out of nowhere.

“Buzz~!”

The white-clad figure lifted his hand again --- and the vortex began to spin rapidly.

A terrifying suction force burst from it.

In an instant, a ten-kilometer radius was engulfed in violent gales and flying debris.

The red mist, which had been relentlessly spreading, was now being pulled upward and drawn rapidly into the vortex.

Even though Li Juntang had mentally prepared himself for this moment, witnessing it with his own eyes still left him utterly stunned.

Who was this person? How could someone wield such divine power?

It was like he could summon wind and rain at will --- like a god descending from the heavens. - Ton

3 days same thing with each prince. Pure wasting of time for many days.

exactly, sound like broken record.

The author is tired

Well, the writing style isn't exactly new. So many of the earlier chapters had similar themes on repeat. But it does get tiresome, especially when we want the story to progress.

Yes exactly but reading the same thing after waiting for so long is frustrating. If author starts delivering more pages then it should be fine to read repeated stuff

What author did here is describe each prince. They were described earlier thru emperor's words and a part by Margaret. But here we see how they really are specially in times of crisis. These details have been done by the author a lot of times already. Difference is we can breeze through those chapters compared to waiting daily now :D

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...
