The Power of the Pagoda

The illusion array set up by Margaret was indeed clever.

For most martial arts grandmasters, once trapped inside such an array, it was easy to lose their sense of direction.

And escaping it in a short time was nearly impossible.

However, in the face of a top-level powerhouse like God King Zeus, illusion arrays were no longer effective.

His divine sense and cultivation had already surpassed the array’s limits.

Even if his eyes couldn’t see through it, he could still break it forcefully.

Any array has a core and a foundation. Once these are hit by a powerful force, they will be damaged.

When that happens, the array naturally collapses.

This was exactly how God King Zeus dealt with such situations --- brute force.

Once trapped, he didn’t bother to investigate with divine sense; he would simply unleash his immense power and sweep everything within hundreds of meters.

A single energy blast was usually enough to destroy an array.

If once wasn’t enough, he’d do it a second time.

With Zeus’s terrifying cultivation, no array had ever withstood more than three of his strikes.

“Break!”

“Break!”

“Break again!”

With a wave of his hand, Zeus sent out waves of energy, blasting indiscriminately in all directions.

Various arrays shattered one after another.

Zeus continued forward as he broke through the formations.

Everywhere he passed looked like the aftermath of a storm --- utter devastation.

Meanwhile, God Queen Hera followed behind leisurely, looking relaxed and showing no intention of helping.

In this way, the two god-kings advanced up Luoxia Mountain, destroying a large swath of forest and rocks before finally reaching the summit.

Atop the mountain stood a grand and majestic ancient temple.

In front of its gates stood dozens of martial monks wielding staffs.

These were elite fighters from the Arhat Hall, including two ultimate grandmaster-level experts.

As Zeus and Hera reached the summit, all the monks grew alert.

"Please halt, benefactors," said a middle-aged monk holding a vajra staff. "This is sacred Buddhist ground. No violence is allowed. We ask that you leave at once."

"Hand over Logan Rhys, and you may live," Zeus said coldly.

He didn’t take the monks seriously, but he did sense a powerful energy near the temple.

It was similar to the Five Blood Fiend Array he had felt earlier, but stronger.

“Amitabha, the sea of suffering is boundless. Turn back and there is shore,” the monk advised. “Please do not commit more bloodshed.”

“Enough nonsense! If you won’t hand him over, then you all die!” Zeus growled.

His patience had completely run out.

The moment he acted, it would be a river of blood.

“If you two insist on this path, then this humble monk will have to stop you,” the middle-aged monk said, frowning.

“Stop me? With you baldies? Hmph! You overestimate yourselves!”

Zeus had no interest in further words. He raised his hand and pointed.

Zzzzz!

A streak of blue lightning shot out, aimed directly at the monk’s chest.

With his strength, any average martial master would be killed instantly.

Buzz~!

Just as the blue lightning was about to strike, a flash of golden light appeared.

The lightning was instantly absorbed, vanishing without a trace, as if it had sunk into a bottomless ocean.

“Hmm?”

Zeus raised an eyebrow, surprised.

That golden flash looked like a golden tower.

It appeared and disappeared in an instant.

What shocked him was that his lightning attack had made no impact whatsoever — truly strange.

“Interesting,” Hera said with a smirk, finally intrigued.

She had shown no interest in the previous arrays, but this flash of golden light had caught her attention.

Big, beautiful, golden, and capable of absorbing energy --- if they could acquire it, it would be a superb defensive artifact.

“So, you had a treasure protecting you. No wonder you dared to stand here at the gate.”

Zeus narrowed his eyes. “But I want to see just how many of my attacks this treasure can withstand.”

As he spoke, he slowly raised his hand and spread his fingers wide, beginning to gather power.

A ball of blue electricity appeared in his palm.

It started the size of an egg, but quickly grew to the size of a basketball.

Electric arcs danced within it, containing terrifying energy and an overwhelming sense of pressure.

“Break for me!”

Zeus hurled the lightning ball at the temple gate with great force.

The ball shot forward like a cannon shell, carrying tremendous destructive power.

Buzz~!

The massive golden pagoda appeared again, like a mountain, enveloping the entire temple.

At the same time, Zeus’s lightning ball smashed into the pagoda.

Boom!

With a loud bang.

The golden pagoda trembled slightly, but quickly stabilized.

As for the lightning ball Zeus had thrown, most of its energy was absorbed the moment it exploded.

The small portion that remained turned into a gust of energy, blowing away from the temple.

“Hmm?”

The fifth failed attempt made Zeus frown.

At this moment, he finally realized --- this golden pagoda was no ordinary object. - Ton

Thanks Ton. They wasted time explaining what they have already explained yesterday. They are just delaying. It will take two updates before we will know about Dustin's Condition.

I think the delay is a deliberate act aimed at giving Dustin enough time to finish absorbing the energy and getting him ready to face these powerful enemies

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...
