Profound and Hard to Comprehend

Urged on by Hera, Margaret finally emerged from the ancient temple after a long delay.

She held in her hands a handwritten book.

“You two really are impatient,” she said, shifting the blame right away. “This breakthrough method is deep and profound. It obviously takes time to recall. What if I made a mistake while writing it?”

“Such a glib tongue! Who knows what you were really doing in there?” Hera said coldly.

“I had to recall, write, and double-check for errors. How could it be that simple? Can’t you two be a little more understanding?” Margaret frowned slightly.

“Cut the nonsense! Hand over the breakthrough method now!” Zeus urged impatiently.

“The method is right here. See for yourselves.” Margaret said no more and tossed the book into the air.

Zeus and Hera exchanged a glance and both moved at lightning speed to snatch the book.

Both of them had reached the peak of Ultimate Grandmaster level, just one step away from ascension.

A method that could help break through was of critical importance to them.

It was something they might even turn on each other over.

“Hera! How dare you try to take it from me?!”

“Hmph! I’ve worked so hard for this --- why should I let you reap the benefits?”

The two clashed in mid-air, their figures flickering rapidly as they fought over the book. Neither dared to go too hard, afraid they might damage the precious volume.

Eventually, after a flurry of moves, both managed to grab hold of it --- each holding one half, neither willing to let go.

“Hera! Let go right now or don’t blame me for getting rough!” Zeus said coldly.

As the strongest among the four Divine Kings, he naturally had the confidence to suppress Hera.

“If anyone’s letting go, it should be you! Want me to just hand it over? Not a chance!” Hera was unafraid.

Though both were Divine Kings, each had their own ambitions.

If this book truly contained the secret to breaking through, then it was a supreme treasure.

Whoever got it would be able to ascend instantly.

No one would let such an opportunity slip away.

“Hera! My patience is wearing thin --- don’t force me to turn hostile!” Zeus’s other hand began to glow with the light of a thunderbolt.

“Hostile? Go ahead --- what, you think I’m scared of you?” Hera raised her hand in response.

In an instant, hundreds of black ice spears materialized behind her, poised to turn Zeus into a pincushion.

Watching the two of them deadlocked in argument, Margaret secretly felt relieved.

She was now just hoping the two would actually fight --- then they wouldn’t have time to deal with her.

“Wait! Let’s not be hasty!”

Just as Hera was about to strike, Zeus suddenly said, “We don’t even know if this book is genuine or not. Fighting over it now --- isn’t that a bit foolish?”

Hearing that, Hera frowned.

She had been in such a rush to get the breakthrough method, she hadn’t stopped to consider anything else.

Now that Zeus mentioned it, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of alarm.

They hadn’t even verified its authenticity --- going all out for it might lead to mutual destruction. That would indeed be foolish.

“How about this --- we sit down and read it together. How much each of us can comprehend depends on our own ability. How’s that?” Zeus suggested.

“Fine by me.” Hera nodded.

By reading together, at least neither of them would be at a loss. Whoever managed to break through first would depend on talent and comprehension.

“I’ll count to three. On three, we both let go and land slowly --- no funny business.”

“Agreed.”

“Three, two, one.”

With an agreement in place, Zeus and Hera descended at the same time, neither trying any tricks.

Afterward, they sat down right where they were and began flipping through the book.

But as they read, both began to frown.

They discovered that what Margaret had written was extremely deep and hard to understand.

They were fluent in the language of the Dragonmarsh --- every single character was familiar --- but when those characters were strung together, the meaning became incomprehensible.

It was a strange sensation.

They knew every word, yet couldn’t grasp the meaning.

Still, neither said a word --- they just grit their teeth and kept reading.

But the more they read, the more their brows furrowed, and the worse their headaches became.

The book even included theories of Yin-Yang and the Eight Trigrams --- esoteric and complex, like reading a heavenly script.

By the time they had read through it word by word, their expressions had grown deeply grim.

Yes, they couldn’t understand it --- and certainly couldn’t tell if it was real or fake.

But admitting that out loud would be embarrassing.

As Divine Kings, their pride was immense.

“Girl, trying to trick me with a fake method --- you think I can’t read?”

Suddenly, Zeus lashed out, grabbing Margaret by the throat from a distance and lifting her into the air.

“Your Highness!”

Seeing this, the others inside the ancient temple were shocked and drew their weapons, ready to strike.

“Stand down!”

Margaret raised her hand to stop them, using an array to force them back.

“I’ll give you one last chance. Tell me the real method --- or you die!” Zeus threatened coldly.

“This is the real method. I can swear on the Dao of Heaven --- if I’ve faked anything, may I be struck down by five thunders!” Margaret declared her vow firmly.

The breakthrough method was real.

Whether they could understand it --- that was another matter entirely. - Ton

Life or Death?

At this moment, Hera was completely terrified. When she saw Dustin effortlessly dissolve her attack, she had already started thinking about retreating. Her instincts told her that Dustin was not someone to be trifled with --- he was an extremely dangerous individual. Still, she clung to a sliver of hope, thinking that with Zeus by her side, the two of them together might still stand a chance. But now, after watching Zeus get severely injured and lose an arm with just one strike, she completely panicked. Her strength was already a bit weaker than Zeus’. If even Zeus couldn’t withstand a single strike from Dustin, there was no way she could either. So, the instant she saw Dustin raise his hand again, Hera didn’t hesitate for even a moment. She pushed off with her feet, launching herself into the air like a streak of light, fleeing rapidly into the sky. At this point, all she wanted was to save her own life. As for Zeus’s survival? That was no longer her concern. Rig...

Elder Whitebone

Li Juntang knew the white figure was powerful, but he hadn’t expected it to be this powerful. In just a matter of minutes, the figure had devoured the overwhelming red mist using a technique like a divine dragon drawing in water, leaving not a trace behind. Such divine ability was far beyond anything he could imagine. Seeing it with his own eyes was far more shocking than anything he’d heard. Once the red mist vanished, the white figure waved a hand, and the energy vortex quickly dissipated. A blood-red bead slowly floated down from high above and finally landed in the white figure’s palm. Seeing the opportunity was ripe, Li Juntang immediately channeled his true qi and shouted, “You have dispersed the poisonous mist with divine powers and saved the entire city from disaster. I, Li Juntang, thank you on behalf of the people of this city. May I have the honor of meeting you face to face to express our gratitude properly?” This statement was skillfully crafted --- first, p...

Transcendent and Otherworldly

A burst of golden light suddenly appeared, neutralizing Zeus’s attack and at the same time saving Margaret from having her cultivation abolished. As the golden light gradually faded, a handsome young man emerged before the crowd. His hair was completely white, his clothes were ragged, but his entire being exuded a transcendent and otherworldly aura. He stood there silently in front of Margaret, like an unshakable mountain. “Dustin?” Seeing the white-haired, handsome man, Margaret finally let out a long breath of relief. She knew she was saved --- and so was everyone in the ancient temple. Although Dustin now had white hair, his appearance hadn’t changed much. But the aura he carried was now touched with an undefinable trace of divinity --- something she had never sensed before. And that alone was enough to prove that Dustin had broken through to a new realm. “You’ve worked hard.” Dustin turned and gave Margaret a gentle nod. A strand of golden light suddenly pou...
