Joining Forces to Break the Tower

What surprised the God-King Zeus wasn't the sheer strength of the golden pagoda's defense, but the fact that it could absorb attacks.

The lightning orb he had just thrown had most of its energy completely devoured by the golden pagoda, causing no substantial damage.

This was far more sophisticated than simply resisting energy head-on.

It was clear that this golden pagoda was a rare divine artifact.

Breaking through it completely would not be easy.

However, the more this was the case, the more certain Zeus became that Logan Rhys was hiding within this ancient temple.

As long as the golden pagoda was destroyed, he could completely eliminate the hidden threat that was Logan Rhys.

“Benefactors, the Seven-Treasure Glazed Pagoda is indestructible. No matter how you attack, you will not break it. I urge you both to cease your pointless efforts and leave the mountain at once!” said the leading middle-aged martial monk.

“Hmph! I refuse to believe there exists a defense in this world that I cannot break!”

Zeus did not back down. On the contrary, his fighting spirit was ignited.

He spread his hands wide and began rapidly charging power.

Two lightning orbs quickly formed, growing larger and larger.

“Break!”

When they reached the size of basketballs, Zeus hurled them fiercely at the golden pagoda.

"Boom! Boom!"

With two loud explosions, the golden pagoda trembled slightly.

After a burst of energy waves, the two lightning orbs were completely absorbed by the pagoda and vanished without a trace.

But Zeus didn't stop --- he continued to charge and repeatedly bombard the tower.

Lightning orb after lightning orb struck the golden pagoda.

For a time, explosions rang out endlessly.

However, no matter how Zeus attacked, the golden pagoda remained unmoved, showing no signs of cracking.

Seeing the pagoda still intact, the people within the ancient temple let out a sigh of relief.

The Seven-Treasure Glazed Pagoda’s defense was even stronger than they had expected --- it could withstand Zeus’s relentless attacks without breaking, which was truly extraordinary.

However, unlike the monks and guards who were slightly relieved, Margaret in the backyard remained tense.

The Seven-Treasure Glazed Pagoda was her lifebound magic artifact. Although it appeared undamaged for now, she knew very well it had a limit.

Each strike from Zeus imposed a burden on the pagoda.

Once that burden reached a critical point, the pagoda would shatter.

In other words, as long as Zeus kept attacking without rest, he would eventually break it.

At the current intensity, the pagoda could only hold out for one day and one night.

And that was assuming Hera didn’t join in. If she did, the time it would take to break the pagoda would be greatly reduced.

Of course, the most crucial factor was Dustin.

If Dustin could finish absorbing the Dragon Source Qi before the tower shattered, the situation could be reversed.

If not --- then she would likely die and fade into nothingness.

She was betting her life on Dustin’s success.

Time ticked by.

Outside the temple, Zeus continued his furious assault, showing no signs of stopping.

The blue lightning orbs in his hands flew like cannonballs, repeatedly striking the golden pagoda.

He knew clearly: no matter how formidable the pagoda was, it couldn’t truly be invincible. It had to have a limit.

His plan was simple: keep attacking until it broke under the overwhelming power of his cultivation.

That was the theory --- but in practice, it wasn’t so easy.

The pagoda had a limit, yes, but so did his own Qi.

After three hours of bombardment, the pagoda was still perfectly intact, while he himself was panting, covered in sweat.

Since becoming a God-King, he had never been this exhausted.

No matter what opponent he faced, he had always defeated them easily.

He never expected that a mere golden pagoda could withstand three hours of relentless bombardment.

Was this thing a turtle shell or what?

Zeus was frustrated and furious.

The more he failed to break it, the more obsessed he became with doing so.

After taking a brief rest, Zeus finally turned toward Hera, who had been watching the entire time.

“Hera! How long are you going to just stand there and watch?”

“Were you talking to me?” Hera yawned.

“You looked so energetic fighting on your own, I didn’t want to interrupt. Besides, aren’t you always complaining when I interfere and steal your prey?”

“That was then, this is now. Can’t you see I’m drenched in sweat?” Zeus snapped.

“If you don’t help break this tower now, things are only going to get worse!”

He was the mighty leader of the Four God-Kings. If word got out that he couldn’t even break a tower, how would he ever face anyone again?

“Fine, fine. Since you’ve asked, I’ll give you a hand.”

Hera stretched lazily, but the expression on her face finally turned serious. - Marinien

I pray that the Pagoda continues to be intact until Dustin completely absorbs the qi.

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...
