Diverting the Trouble

The Next Day, Noon

God-King Zeus and God-Queen Hera were in the middle of a game of international chess.

Suddenly, a middle-aged man rushed in quickly and bowed deeply: “Lord Zeus! Lady Hera! We’ve found the whereabouts of Logan Rhys!”

At these words, both Zeus and Hera looked up at the same time.

“Oh? There’s news? Where is he?” Zeus spoke first.

“In the Drunken Immortal Tavern in the city center. It’s a property under our Temple of the Gods. This morning, two mysterious groups of people showed up there. During their conversations, they mentioned the name Logan Rhys. And according to what they said, it seems Logan Rhys is currently recuperating in the secret chamber of an important figure,” the middle-aged man reported.

“Recuperating?” Zeus and Hera exchanged glances and nodded.

After that battle with Poseidon, even though he had won, he must have sustained serious injuries. No wonder there had been no trace of him lately --- so he was hiding and healing.

“Do you know who this important figure is?” Zeus asked.

“These people are highly skilled. Our spies didn’t dare get too close, so the information is unclear. To avoid alerting them, I came to report to you immediately. How to proceed is up to the two of you.” The man kept his head low.

Although he was a senior member of the Temple of the Gods, in this situation, he dared not make any decisions himself. His rise to this position had been built on caution --- he always aimed to avoid mistakes rather than seek credit.

“Useless fool! You can’t even handle something this trivial!” Zeus snorted coldly, visibly displeased.

“Forgive me... Logan Rhys is an ultimate grandmaster-level powerhouse. I’m no match for him. Only absolute powerhouses like you and Lady Hera can subdue him,” the man said humbly.

“Forget it. Relying on people like you is hopeless. Looks like we’ll have to go personally.” Zeus stood up slowly.

“I’d rather not go.” Hera yawned. “If Logan Rhys is seriously wounded, you can easily handle him by yourself. No need for me to intervene.”

“Logan Rhys is not the concern. But don’t forget --- there’s still an old monster in the Forbidden City. If he gets involved, I won’t be able to handle it alone,” Zeus said coldly.

“Fine, I’ll go with you. The sooner we get this over with, the better. I really don’t like the climate in Stonia.” Hera lazily stretched.

Back in the States, she would still be in bed at this time of day.

Twenty Minutes Later – Drunken Immortal Tavern

A chorus of screams rang out. On the second floor, over ten martial experts had been beaten to the ground, unable to stand.

“Speak! Where is Logan Rhys?” Zeus stepped on a man’s head, looking down with cold indifference.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” the man gritted his teeth.

“Courting death!”

Zeus didn’t waste words. He stomped down hard, crushing the man’s skull, then moved to the next.

“You. Speak. Where is Logan Rhys?”

“Mercy, great one! Please have mercy! I’m just here to drink! I don’t want to be caught up in your conflict. Please, spare me!” The man was trembling with fear, kneeling and repeatedly kowtowing.

“Trash.”

Zeus pointed his finger. A bolt of lightning pierced the man’s chest, blasting a hole the size of a bowl, shattering his heart into fragments.

Strangely, there was no blood --- the wound had been scorched black by the electricity.

Everyone present turned pale with fright and broke out in cold sweat.

“Anyone who knows where Logan Rhys is --- I’ll spare your life. Otherwise, everyone here dies.” Zeus’ threat was icy and merciless.

He had always been brutal and had no patience for negotiations. Anyone who dared resist was killed on the spot.

If he killed enough people, fear would force someone to talk.

“I’ll count to three. When I’m done, it’ll be your end.”

Zeus raised his hand slowly. Electricity coiled around his fingertips, and a terrifying pressure swept over the entire room, suffocating everyone.

“Three…”

“Two…”

“One…”

Just as Zeus was about to wipe out the entire room, a man in green finally cracked under pressure and shouted, “I’ll talk! I’ll talk! I know where Logan Rhys is!”

“Very good.”

Zeus nodded, then flicked his finger. A bolt of lightning shot out, instantly killing the remaining martial artists, reducing them to ash.

The lightning bolt then returned to Zeus’ hand, crackling with energy.

In the blink of an eye, the man in green was the only survivor.

Seeing the scorched ashes around him, the man was terrified out of his mind.

He hadn’t expected Zeus to be so ruthless --- not even leaving a single witness.

Even as a trained death soldier, he couldn’t help but tremble with fear.

“Speak. Where is he?” Zeus’ tone was calm and emotionless.

Gulp... The man swallowed hard and said shakily, “I’m a bodyguard of the Second Prince, Li Guanglong. Last night, a mysterious guest arrived at the Second Prince’s mansion --- I think his name was Logan Rhys.”

“Li Guanglong?” Zeus narrowed his eyes. “Proof?”

“This… this is the evidence.” The man pulled a waist token from his robe engraved with the character “å…‰” (Guang).

Zeus reached out, and the token flew into his hand. He passed it to a senior member of the Temple of the Gods standing nearby.

“No doubt. This is the personal guard token of Li Guanglong’s household,” the man confirmed.

“Go to Li Guanglong’s mansion and retrieve him.”

Without another word, Zeus killed the green-robed man and vanished instantly. - Ton

Life or Death?

At this moment, Hera was completely terrified. When she saw Dustin effortlessly dissolve her attack, she had already started thinking about retreating. Her instincts told her that Dustin was not someone to be trifled with --- he was an extremely dangerous individual. Still, she clung to a sliver of hope, thinking that with Zeus by her side, the two of them together might still stand a chance. But now, after watching Zeus get severely injured and lose an arm with just one strike, she completely panicked. Her strength was already a bit weaker than Zeus’. If even Zeus couldn’t withstand a single strike from Dustin, there was no way she could either. So, the instant she saw Dustin raise his hand again, Hera didn’t hesitate for even a moment. She pushed off with her feet, launching herself into the air like a streak of light, fleeing rapidly into the sky. At this point, all she wanted was to save her own life. As for Zeus’s survival? That was no longer her concern. Rig...

Elder Whitebone

Li Juntang knew the white figure was powerful, but he hadn’t expected it to be this powerful. In just a matter of minutes, the figure had devoured the overwhelming red mist using a technique like a divine dragon drawing in water, leaving not a trace behind. Such divine ability was far beyond anything he could imagine. Seeing it with his own eyes was far more shocking than anything he’d heard. Once the red mist vanished, the white figure waved a hand, and the energy vortex quickly dissipated. A blood-red bead slowly floated down from high above and finally landed in the white figure’s palm. Seeing the opportunity was ripe, Li Juntang immediately channeled his true qi and shouted, “You have dispersed the poisonous mist with divine powers and saved the entire city from disaster. I, Li Juntang, thank you on behalf of the people of this city. May I have the honor of meeting you face to face to express our gratitude properly?” This statement was skillfully crafted --- first, p...

Transcendent and Otherworldly

A burst of golden light suddenly appeared, neutralizing Zeus’s attack and at the same time saving Margaret from having her cultivation abolished. As the golden light gradually faded, a handsome young man emerged before the crowd. His hair was completely white, his clothes were ragged, but his entire being exuded a transcendent and otherworldly aura. He stood there silently in front of Margaret, like an unshakable mountain. “Dustin?” Seeing the white-haired, handsome man, Margaret finally let out a long breath of relief. She knew she was saved --- and so was everyone in the ancient temple. Although Dustin now had white hair, his appearance hadn’t changed much. But the aura he carried was now touched with an undefinable trace of divinity --- something she had never sensed before. And that alone was enough to prove that Dustin had broken through to a new realm. “You’ve worked hard.” Dustin turned and gave Margaret a gentle nod. A strand of golden light suddenly pou...
