An Unstoppable Force

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions outside the ancient temple echoed one after another, showing no signs of stopping.

The golden pagoda that shielded the temple was already covered with dozens of dense cracks.

And with each continued attack from Zeus and Hera, the number of fractures only increased.

In less than half an hour, the entire metallic pagoda was riddled with fractures.

“Break for me!”

Seeing that the pagoda was at its limit, God-King Zeus and God-Queen Hera gathered their strength once again and launched a simultaneous strike.

BOOM!!

A thunderous sound shook the earth and mountains.

The golden pagoda, which had held out all night, finally reached its breaking point and shattered completely.

Countless golden shards fell from the sky like broken glass, descending like a dense rain.

In the Rear Courtyard

The moment the golden pagoda was shattered, Margaret spat out another mouthful of fresh blood and nearly collapsed.

“Your Highness!”

Seeing this, several female guards rushed to catch her, shielding her behind them, prepared to face the oncoming enemies.

Since they couldn’t persuade the princess to leave, they could only gamble their lives to protect her.

“Hahahaha... it’s broken! It’s finally broken!”

Outside the ancient temple, God-King Zeus burst into laughter, visibly exhilarated.

Though exhausted and with all his inner energy depleted, it was all worth it.

A God-King's dignity must never be challenged.

If he couldn’t even break a measly little pagoda, how could he ever face others again?

“Phew... That was tiring.”

God-Queen Hera let out a long sigh.

Even though they had finally shattered the golden pagoda, she felt no sense of pride.

Two God-Kings had to work together and attack all night just to break this pagoda --- it didn’t sound like an honorable feat no matter how you looked at it.

Instead, she now grew curious --- who was the owner of that pagoda?

To be able to control such a treasure and withstand the attacks of two God-Kings for so long was no small feat.

“Monks of the Order, hear my command! Form the battle formation immediately!”

As soon as the golden pagoda shattered, the warrior monks standing guard at the temple gate made their move, surrounding Zeus and Hera.

They understood well that after an entire night of exhausting combat, the two God-Kings were now at their weakest.

This was the best opportunity to strike.

If they waited for the two to recover, they’d have no chance of victory.

“Heh… You weaklings think you can take us down? Don’t overestimate yourselves.” Zeus sneered.

Even without using inner energy, his physical strength alone was more than enough to slaughter these ants.

“Seize them!”

The leading middle-aged monk didn’t waste any words. Once the formation was set, he gave the order to attack.

“Go!”

Dozens of warrior monks struck at once, forming a Vajra Arhat Formation to trap Zeus and Hera within two concentric circles.

Immediately after, the sounds of staffs echoed.

Countless staff shadows surged toward the two like a tidal wave, sealing off every possible escape route.

God-King Zeus stood motionless, allowing the barrage of strikes to land on him.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Amid the flurry of impacts, the staffs that struck Zeus either bent or snapped --- none could cause the slightest injury.

As for God-Queen Hera, she vanished from her spot, causing all the attacks aimed at her to miss completely.

“What?!”

Seeing their staffs either broken or bent, the monks were shocked.

They had attacked with full strength, and Zeus hadn’t even dodged --- he hadn’t even used a trace of inner energy.

Yet, just standing there, they couldn’t break his defense.

To them, this was a crushing blow.

They had hoped that while Zeus was weakened, they might stand a chance. But now, that hope was clearly a joke.

Zeus’s physical body was no weaker than the Golden Body of the Shaolin Arhat.

“Too weak. Is this all the strength you have?” Zeus mocked with disdain written all over his face.

Since he was in a good mood, he didn’t mind playing with these ants a little longer.

“Don’t be arrogant!”

Two Grandmaster-level monks exchanged a glance and launched a simultaneous attack with their reinforced steel staffs.

Their twin Vajra staffs struck from above and below, aiming at Zeus’s head and legs.

“Heh…”

Zeus didn’t dodge --- he simply raised his hand to block.

BANG! BANG!

Two explosive thuds later ---

Both steel staffs bent at a 90-degree angle upon impact with Zeus, still failing to cause any harm.

“What?!”

The two Grandmasters looked stunned.

If even their combined full-force attack couldn’t penetrate his defense, then today’s battle was already lost.

“All done?”

Zeus gave a cold smile, then struck with lightning speed --- his palm hitting both Grandmasters in the chest and abdomen.

The two didn’t even have time to react before being blasted over a hundred meters away, crashing through three walls before coming to a stop.

When they hit the ground, blood spewed from their mouths and noses --- they were seriously injured and could no longer fight.

One move.

Without using any inner energy, God-King Zeus had severely wounded two Grandmaster-level monks with a single blow.

The difference in power between the two sides was as vast as a chasm.

At this moment, everyone finally realized just how terrifying God-King Zeus truly was.

He was a force they could never hope to resist. - Ton

There’s the answer to the question of how of how much literally was Margaret tied to the golden pagoda. She didn’t literally die. Thanks Ton!

Like what we said :D Although yes she's the caster so she'll get substantial effect once it is destroyed. This is the way author increases drama.

This delay is saddening. They will still have this fight for 7 more episodes. Before even making their way inside. I started reading this novel since August 2023

I found a text in my facebook feed in July 2023 and been reading since. Not sure when the novel started, but there were maybe 1800+ chapters already by then.

I'm so surprised that the speed of the author keeps dropping daily. Terrible writing pattern

Interception

Li Guanglong’s fingers gently stroked the ornate box, the chill of its silken surface seeping into his fingertips, yet it could not mask the damp sweat pooling in his palm. He glanced at Murong Xue, who was locked in a drinking contest with Batu. Murong was tilting back his head, draining a large bowl of amber-colored liquor. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, and in the corner of his eye he cast a fleeting glance toward the copper kettle in the corner of the igloo. That was where they had hidden the prepared knockout drug --- brewed from a poisonous herb of the icefields that gave off a sweet aroma. Once mixed into strong liquor, it was nearly impossible to detect. “Leader Batu truly has a mighty capacity for drink!” Murong Xue slammed his empty bowl down on the table, sending ice shards scattering. “This ‘ice-burn’ liquor cuts like a blade. Ordinary men collapse after three bowls, yet you remain unshaken. Truly worthy of being called the eagle of the snowfields!” Batu r...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...
