"General, please!"

Wang Mang held the handle of the scepter with one hand and made a gesture of seeing off the guest with the other.

"Hmph!"

General Long Wei glanced at Wang Mang's little action coldly, turned around and left the meeting room.

Even though the young prince had some doubts, he could not do anything to him unless he could find evidence.

Wang Mang escorted General Long Wei all the way and entered Room A No. 1 again.

After closing the door, Wang Mang went to Room A No. 2 and invited the general of the city guard inside.

Then he took him all the way to the meeting room.

"I have seen the young prince!"

After entering the meeting room, the general of the city guard bowed and saluted in a very polite manner.

"General, please sit down."

Thorian had a blank expression on his face. After motioning him to sit down, he asked Wang Mang to pour a cup of tea.

"General, do you know why I asked you to come here today?" Thorian said lightly.

The same opening remarks as before, with a tentative meaning.

"Is it because Zhengjun Duncan is missing?" The city guard general asked back.

"Oh? It seems that the general has a clear mind. If that's the case, then tell me everything you know." Thorian raised his eyebrows slightly.

"My Lord, I only heard it from others. Zhengjun Duncan's disappearance has nothing to do with me. My Lord, you are looking for the wrong person to question me." The city guards lowered his head slightly, and his expression could not be seen clearly.

"Really?"

Thorian sneered: "Before Zhengjun Duncan disappeared, he only saw the three of you, and he had a conflict with you last night. You say it has nothing to do with you, do you think I will believe it?"

"Little Prince, everything I said is true."

The city guard general said sincerely: "Although I invited Zhengjun Duncan to have supper last night, I went home alone after that and never went out again. If you don't believe it, you can ask my family members, they can testify for me."

"General, you and I are smart men, don't show off such childish words in front of me. "

Thorian's smile faded, and he said coldly: "I will give you another chance. As long as you confess honestly and take the initiative to admit your mistakes, I can spare your life; on the contrary, if you persist in your mistakes, you will end up with a broken family."

"Little Prince, I have been working diligently for West Lucozia and loyal to the palace. I don't think I have done anything extraordinary. Please look at it carefully." The city guard general bowed his head again and put on a very low attitude.

"Don't worry, I will investigate this matter thoroughly."

Thorian said indifferently: "I gave you a chance, but you didn't want it. In this case, there is nothing to say. Wang Mang, see him out!"

"General, please!"

Wang Mang didn't waste his words and walked forward to ask the general of the city guard to leave the meeting room.

On the way back, the general of the city guard frowned slightly, feeling a little uneasy.

He could see that Thorian was really furious this time.

Once evidence was found, he would be dismissed at best, or even killed!

Although he had informed General Long Wei in advance and handled the whole matter, he was still a little uneasy after all because he had done something wrong.

Now, he just hoped that Thorian would not find any evidence and the case would end in nothing.

After sending the city guard commander to Room A-2, Wang Mang returned to the meeting room.

At this moment, Thorian was holding a cup of tea, thinking silently.

He could see that General Longwei and the city guard commander were obviously in collusion, so they were fearless.

With the means and power of the two, once they killed someone to silence him, there would be basically no trace left.

Even if the law enforcement team was dispatched to investigate, it would be difficult to find any substantial evidence.

Now to get a result, we can only find another way.

"Wang Mang, let them go."

After thinking for a while, Thorian suddenly said.

"Release them?"

Wang Mang was stunned and asked in confusion: "Young Prince, they are obviously the most suspicious, why do you want to release them?"

"Without evidence, we can't do anything to them now, so it's better to release them directly and lure them out of their hole." Thorian narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Luring them out of their hole? What do you mean?" Wang Mang was even more puzzled.

He found that he couldn't keep up with the young prince's thinking.

"Don't think too much, just listen to my arrangements."

Thorian said meaningfully: "Not only will I release them, I will also invite them to dinner in a grand manner. Listen to me in detail on how to do it."

Thorian waved his hand, and Wang Mang immediately came up and listened attentively.

After Thorian whispered a few words, Wang Mang's eyes lit up instantly, and he was surprised. He praised repeatedly: "Second! Why didn't I think of this? You are worthy of being the little prince, and you are really smart and outstanding!"

"Stop flattering me, and do it quickly." Thorian urged.

"Don't worry, little prince, I will do it beautifully and will never let you down!" Wang Mang clasped his fists and turned away.

Thorian took a sip from the teacup, looked at the slowly setting sun outside the door with deep eyes, and murmured to himself:

"Good words can't persuade the damned ghosts. I gave you the opportunity to confess, but you didn't cherish it."

Trouble Arrives at the Door

“I was quite surprised that I managed to bring back the Dragon Source Qi so smoothly this time. Honestly, I was even prepared to fall out completely with Li Juntang,” said Dustin. “Oh? How so?” Margarert raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. Dustin didn't hold back. He carefully recounted everything that had happened, including Li Juntang’s sudden and unusual friendliness, as well as Hongniang’s intervention and her decision to follow him. “What do you think Li Juntang is really up to? He was incredibly suspicious of me just a day before --- nearly fought me --- yet the next day he completely changed, became overly friendly, and even gifted me one of the great beauties from the Rouge List. It's baffling.” Dustin shook his head. “In my view, this probably has something to do with Li Juntang’s mother, Consort Spanner,” Margarert said after a moment of contemplation. “Consort Spanner is shrewd and calculating. She must have realized that Li Juntang isn't your match...

“But... I’m not willing to accept this!” Li Juntang gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with deep resentment. He was so close to succeeding --- why did his father have to interfere at such a crucial moment? Could it be that his father never intended to make him the crown prince? Had all the previous favoritism and preferential treatment just been an act? “Son, to accomplish great things, you must have patience. You must never act impulsively,” Consort Spanner advised him earnestly. “One defeat is nothing; losing a bit of treasure isn’t worth mentioning. As long as you are safe, there will always be another opportunity. The Spanner family and I will always support you.” Hearing this, Li Juntang’s expression finally softened a little. Although he did not have the dragon source energy and the national destiny, he still had his mother, the powerful Spanner clan, and the network of connections he had painstakingly built over the years. With all these advantages, he could s...

Wu Yong stumbled into Li Juntang Hall’s courtyard, drenched in sweat, his clothes soaked through, and a lingering expression of terror still etched on his face. Inside, Li Juntang was seated at his desk, lost in thought under the dim light of a solitary lamp. At the sound of hurried footsteps, his brow furrowed, and he looked up to see who had come. “Your… Your Highness! Something terrible has happened!” Wu Yong burst through the door in a panic, completely disregarding any form of etiquette. “What is it?” Li Juntang frowned, his expression turning displeased. The estate was so large that the earlier sound of the door being broken down hadn’t even alarmed him. “Your Highness, just now, the Pantheon’s God-Kings --- Zeus and Hera --- suddenly stormed in and attacked us! General Zhang He tried to stop them, but Zeus merely raised his hand and summoned a bolt of lightning. General Zhang… General Zhang was killed instantly!” Wu Yong forced himself to push down his fear and quick...
