Self-destruction

"An Rhys, An Rhys, I can't tell now, are you pretending to be stupid? Or are you really stupid?"

Although Thorian was smiling, his eyes were extremely cold: "You want physical evidence, I gave it to you; you want witnesses, I also gave it to you; now that both the physical and witnesses are there, even the criminal himself has confessed and asked for leniency, what else do you want?"

"Hmph! The officialdom is dark. I just want to ask for justice so that you won't kill innocent people!" An Rhys still looked righteous.

Some of the ministers who had previously agreed with him in remonstration now dared not say a word.

They had already realized that Thorian was really angry and did not dare to continue provoking him.

Of course, the most important reason is that they have lost their confidence at the moment.

As Thorian said, the ironclad evidence was right before their eyes and they had no choice but to believe it.

An Rhys is a member of the Rhys family and is Thorian's elder. The other party can act recklessly and brazenly, but they can't.

If Thorian is really angered, their family will be destroyed at best, and the clan will be exterminated at worst.

After all, the other party dared to arrest even the general of the city guards and the grand scholar of the Tianzhang Pavilion, let alone small characters like them.

"Who is innocent? Are you innocent? Or are they innocent?"

Thorian's eyes swept back and forth between An Rhys and the other ministers, and the murderous look on his face could hardly be concealed: "In my opinion, you old guys are all no good!"

"What do you mean by that? After you wrongly accused several adults, are you going to blame us?"

An Rhys held his head high, looking righteous and unyielding.

The other ministers of remonstration avoided his gaze and did not dare to respond.

"An Rhys, for the sake of the Rhys family, I will give you one last chance."

Thorian took a deep breath, suppressed his anger and said: "As long as you take your people away now and don't make trouble here, I can pretend that nothing happened. I will put all the unpleasantness today behind me. If you still want to make trouble, don't blame me for being rude!"

"What? Threatening me?"

An Rhys snorted coldly: "I have been upright in my life and I am not afraid of threats from anyone, let alone a jerk like you. Even if the prince himself comes, I will remain true to my original intention and will never compromise!"

"Good! What a great person who never compromises!"

Thorian suddenly clapped his hands and said with a smile: "Since you are so upright, let me see if there is any black material on you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Thorian's smile disappeared and he shouted, "Wang Mang! Bring the law enforcement team immediately and conduct a comprehensive search of An Rhys's house. I suspect this man is corrupt and is protecting criminals!"

"I obey your orders!"

Wang Mang responded and turned to go out.

He had long disliked An Rhys, a clown who only knew how to make trouble unreasonably.

The young prince had been tolerant many times, but the other party did not know how to restrain himself and even went further.

This time, he would definitely turn his house upside down.

"Thorian! You, you, you...you are abusing your rights!"

Seeing the law enforcement team leave, An Rhys immediately became anxious and shouted, "I haven't broken any law or done anything wrong. Why are you searching my house?"

"Because I am now a member of the palace, is this reason enough?" Thorian responded coldly.

"The palace is under the control of the prince, not you. If you dare to act recklessly, I will immediately report you to the prince!" An Rhys threatened.

"Then go ahead and sue!" Thorian didn't care: "I want to see what you can say."

"You--!" An Rhys was choked.

The prince has been living in seclusion, so even if he wants to file a complaint, he won’t be able to find him for a while.

The law enforcement team has already started to take action. If they are not stopped quickly, his dirty tricks might be uncovered at any time.

"Thorian! You've been cruel today! Let's go!"

After hesitating for a few seconds, An Rhys finally compromised and prepared to leave with his people.

As soon as he reached the door, he was stopped by a group of guards.

"Thorian! What do you mean?" An Rhys turned around suddenly.

"You come as you please, and leave as you please. What do you think this place is?"

Thorian said indifferently: "No one can leave today before the search results come out!"

"You...you shouldn't go too far!" An Rhys was furious.

He had already backed off, he had already given up, he had already prepared to leave, but Thorian was taking advantage of him. This was simply going too far!

"If you have nothing to hide, why not search it? Or are you guilty and doing some dirty deeds that are worth revealing?" Thorian was unmoved.

"Nonsense! I have lived an upright life and never done anything bad. Stop framing and slandering me!" An Rhys scolded.

"Don't be so excited. Let's sit down and wait. We should know whether you are honest or not before dark."

After saying that, Thorian ignored everyone else, sat down leisurely, and started to sip his tea.

A sudden storm revealed all these hidden demons and monsters.

He is still reluctant to start a war so as not to cause panic among the people.

But now, he has changed his mind.

If these termites are not eradicated in time, who knows how many lives will be harmed.

This time, he will scrape the bone to cure the poison and make a thorough cleanup! - Ton

Same story. Just that pacing is so slow that's why some readers might think this way. But when doing a fast read like those members of our Discord (we have the complete copy posted there), it does not feel this way unless one arrives at the last update part again :D

Seeking Medicine for a Father

When Li Weimin’s decree was issued, reactions across the factions varied. At that moment, Li Wenxing was in his study, weighing the pros and cons of the recent trip to Southern Frontier. Although he hadn’t stood out much, compared to Li Guanglong and Li Juntang, he was still the more capable one. But this minor advantage clearly wasn’t enough to change the overall outcome. Just then, Qian Jin rushed in and reported, “Your Highness! A message from the palace --- His Majesty’s condition has worsened, and he has only a short time left. He has issued a special decree: any royal family member who can journey to Penglai Island and retrieve the elixir will become the future crown prince!” “Future crown prince?” Hearing this, Li Wenxing’s spirits lifted immediately. But soon after, he frowned. He had, of course, heard of Penglai Island --- but only in legends. Whether it truly existed in the East Sea, and whether it held any elixir that could extend life, remained unknown. ...

The Swarm of Man-Eating Fish

Dustin landed lightly back on the shattered deck, the golden glow on his longsword gradually fading. Across the sea’s surface, dark green blood floated in thick patches, slowly dispersing in the rain. Far in the distance, the typhoon had vanished without warning. A gap opened in the clouds, allowing sunlight to break through at last, casting warm rays onto the ravaged Wavebreaker . Margaret steadied herself against the swaying rail, gazing out at the now-calm sea, a long sigh of relief escaping her lips. That octopus demon just now had the power of an Ultimate Grandmaster --- its enormous body and terrifying regenerative abilities made it nearly invincible. Even most Ultimate Grandmasters wouldn’t stand a chance against such a monster. Thankfully, they had Dustin. If he hadn't been there, who knows how many lives would have been lost? At last, the sea had calmed, and the storm was receding. The Wavebreaker floated gently atop the waves. The deck was in ruins, littered ...

Frozen Wasteland

The ice sculptures shimmered with a cold light in the biting wind, the soldiers’ twisted faces sealed inside the crystalized frost, as if still crying out from the agony of being frozen alive. Li Guanglong stared at those figures, his Adam’s apple rolling a few times as he forced down the tremor in his chest. He raised a hand to rub his still-stiff arm. The spot that had been swept by the white mist earlier was still faintly bruised with purplish-blue, the chill seeming to seep deep into his very bones. “Your Highness, that spirit deer carries a poisonous cold beyond imagination.” Wan Zhong leaned on his blade as he walked over, the wound on his lone arm having split open again from the cold. Blood seeped through the bandages, dripping scarlet dots onto the snow. He gazed toward where the deer had vanished, his eyes full of dread. “We’d best hold our camp steady for now, and not recklessly provoke the creatures of this island again.” Li Guanglong nodded silently. His earlier ...
